Skylarks Home Learning 04.03.21
Date: 3rd Mar 2021 @ 1:25pm
Thursday 4th March
Good morning my lovely Skylarks and happy Thursday 😊
Today is our final full day of remote learning lessons, as tomorrow we will be reflecting on our time spent at home and preparing for our return to school on Monday. You have all been absolute super stars over the past 2 months and you should be so proud of all that you have achieved. I can’t wait to welcome your smiling faces back into our classroom on Monday morning!!
Please see below for today’s remote learning tasks and clubs.
Please remember that I will be available on our discussion/homework area throughout the school day to help you and provide feedback on your work.
Don’t forget to bring your favourite book along to this morning’s zoom meeting if you would like to share it for World Book Day!
In tomorrow’s zoom you are invited to wear your favourite party outfit, costume or silly hat/prop to celebrate the end of our remote learning journey 😊
Maths
Multiplication: For your maths lesson today, please see the PowerPoint attached. Just click on the little speaker icon on the PowerPoint page to listen. Today, we are going to continue to focus on multiplying a 4-digit number by a 2-digit number. We will complete the remaining questions from yesterday’s lesson, including the challenge.
If you cannot access the PowerPoint, please view the maths lesson at the following YouTube link:
If you are watching the lesson through the YouTube link, you may need to pause the video at appropriate times to give yourself time to complete the tasks.
Times Tables
This week I would like you to practice any tables that you still find tricky up to 12 x 12. Can you say it forwards and backwards? Can you write out the multiples of this number? Do you know the division facts? Why not use TTRS or hit the button to help you:

Reading
It would also be super if you could spend 10-15 minutes each day reading your school book that you have taken home or another book you have been enjoying at home.
This week’s author of the week is Dominique Valente. At the link below, you can get lost in the world of Starfell! Listen to an audiobook of the first in the series, Willow Moss and the Lost Day and watch an exclusive video with the author to find out more about the books and her best writing advice.

I have also attached the final online issue of ‘First News’ for you to enjoy at home.
Remember to continue writing in your reading diary and get an adult to sign in, then we can collect our raffle tickets when we are back in school.
Why not tell me what book you are reading over on our discussion?
World Book Day 2021
Today is World Book Day, which we would normally celebrate in school. However, as a school, we have decided to postpone our celebration of this annual event until we have everyone back in our classrooms. This will now take place on Thursday 1st April and we will be asking you all to come to school dressed in your pyjamas to enjoy a day full of reading!
However, I have attached some fun World Book Day activities to our blog that you might want to take part in today. Remember to also spend some time snuggled up with your favourite book 😊
Worship
This week for our signing worship, we will continue to learn/practice how to sing and sign ‘Our God is a Great Big God’:
