PTA
Our PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a group of parents and teachers with a mission to make the school a better place for children to learn. Our committee consists of Donna North (Chair), Fay Ravenscroft (Vice Chair), Bex Widdowson (Secretary) and Kate Waugh (Treasurer). We are supported by a team of fabulous parents who meet to plan fun and exciting events for the children and who volunteer to help run our events.
We come together to volunteer and raise funds along with strengthening the school community. Beyond the financial aspect, the PTA contribute significantly to building a sense of community within the school. Our events help foster relationships among parents, teachers, and friends, creating a supportive network for everyone involved.
Funds are usually spent on things which the school budget doesn't cover such as equipment, treats and easing the cost of school trips for our families (i.e., paying for the coaches and snacks for the whole school trip to the pantomime).
So far this year our PTA have covered the cost of:
· A New Sports Kit for the children to wear when representing the school at various sporting events in the community.
· New Coloured T-shirts for Sports Day
· Coaches and Snacks for the Pantomime
· Christmas Present for Each Child
· Drumming Workshop
Our big ambition this year is to build a brand new all-weather field so that the children have the space they need to thrive all year round. We have also asked each teacher for a wish list of items they would like for their class, and we are doing our best to fulfil these wishes!
We have lots of fun events planned throughout the year. Past events have included:
· Wonka Bar's
· Summer Fair
· Freezer Friday's
· Tuck Shop's
· Bag2School Clothing Collection
· Pumpkin Competition
· Christmas Jumpers
· Raffles
· Christmas Fair
We have lot's more events planned this year including (but not limited to!):
· Movie Night (30th January)
· Friendship Disco (14th February)
· Leap Year Leaping Obstacle Course (29th February)
· Mothers Day Pop Up Shop (4th March)
· Easter Event (22nd March)
· Hair Braiding Workshop by Little Big Heads (24th April)
· Lostock Summer Extravaganza! (13th July)
In essence, our PTA serve as the backbone of a thriving school community. Through collaborative efforts, strategic planning, and fundraising initiatives, they not only address financial needs but also create a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all stakeholders. The dedication of parents, teachers, and friends involved in the PTA reflects a shared commitment to the betterment of the educational journey for every child at our school.
If you would like to be part of the amazing group, please get in touch with your Class Rep. You don't have to give up lots of time, even an hour for one event would be greatly appreciated!
