Skylarks W.B. 22.03.21
Date: 18th Mar 2021 @ 12:43pm
Hi everyone and welcome back to our weekly blog 😊
Another great, hard-working week in Skylarks Class!
Next week in English, we will be comparing the three different characters from our story ‘The Lost Happy Endings’. We will then plan our own story beginning and build up building tension and developing characterisation through the vocabulary we use.
In our reading lessons, we will be focussing on the authors choice of language. We will evaluate the vocabulary used in our ‘Hansel and Gretel’ text and identify the figurative language.
In maths, we will be revising how to multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000, as well as continuing to practice long multiplication.
In Art, we will be looking at the artist Mark Wiggin and analysing his use of colour and texture. We will then use his work as inspiration for our own piece of art, which will be displayed around school.
Our PE days this half term are Thursday and Friday. Your child should come to school in their PE kit on these days.
Homework
Maths homework will resume after the Easter holidays.
Please encourage your child to read and practice their spellings/times tables for 5-10 minutes every day.
Our spellings for the quiz on Friday 26th March will continue to look at words containing the suffix -able:
Adaptable, predictable, knowledgeable, beatable, comfortable, reasonable, available, fashionable, miserable, believable
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
