Weekly Blog
Week commencing Monday 12th July
Hello Starlings and welcome back to our weekly class blog.
Well we are heading into our final full week of Year One! Summer is fast approaching and we are so excited that FOOTBALL IS COMING HOME! Whatever happens in Sunday's final, there will be a lot for our Starlings to talk about and learn about. We are so excited.
English
In writing we have finished reading the ‘Toys in Space’ story by Mini Grey and we have planned our own adventure stories inspired by the events in the book.
Next week, we will be using our plans to write our stories.
Maths
In Maths we have been learning all about numbers to 100. We have explored number patterns and used our knowledge of tens and ones to partition numbers.
Next week we will be continuing our work on numbers to 100 by comparing and ordering numbers using < > and = to help us.
Design and Technology
This week we have enjoyed designing and making our own vehicles. We learnt about wheels and axels and tried to make sure all of our own vehicles had their own wheels and axels. Keeping to our plan was tricky but we did a really good job!
