Weekly Blog
Week commencing Monday 21st June
Hello Starlings and welcome back to our weekly class blog.
We have had another busy and sun-filled week in Starlings class and are so proud of the hard work we are doing to join our handwriting.
English
In writing we have continued to use the text ‘Toys in Space’ by Mini Grey to inspire our writing. We have been looking at the different characters in the book and thinking about how we can describe and compare them. In our sentence writing, we have been learning to use ! and ? at the end of our sentences.
Next week, we will be using the senses to help us to explore how the toys might be feeling. We will also be writing descriptive sentences for our own space creatures.
Maths
In Maths we have been using our knowledge of numbers to 50 and the symbols less than < and greater than > to help us to compare and order objects and numbers.
Next week we will be counting in twos and fives, and we will be applying our learning to help us to solve word problems for addition and subtraction.
History
In topic this week we have been using our history skills to learn about how cars have changed throughout time and exploring the differences in their size, shapes, what materials they were made from and what they were used for. We made timelines to show chronological order.
