Hello to my lovely Goldfinches
Today is a really special day in the Evans’ house as it is Lola's 9th Birthday! We are having a very different type of party. We have organised a WhatsApp quiz with members of our family and friends we can’t celebrate with and a Zoom meeting with her school friends. We decided she is like the Queen and can have 2 birthdays this year so she can celebrate with her school friends when we can all see each other again.
Lego challenge: When it was raining last Saturday, Amelie and Toby did another Lego challenge: They made a new set for a new Star Wars Movie!

New Skills: Lola is fab at wiping the surfaces down in the kitchen, Amelie is learning how to use the washing machine and Toby is learning to put all his own clothes away in his cupboard! I'm learning all about Zoom and also learned to tune a violin yesterday! What little things could you do to help out at home or what new skills can you learn?
Maths:
Did you have a go at the 1st I SEE MATHS lesson? How did you get on? Today’s task is to try the next lesson (Tuesday 24th March) http://www.iseemaths.com/lessons34/
Spelling:
If you haven't already, find out the meanings of your words to help you with the Water Cycle task. You could say or write sentences for each spelling word.
Geography: If you liked the name the continents game....
Before the Easter Holidays I challenged you to remind yourself of the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world. Today can you use the same game to name countries in Europe? When you get to the link click options, choose 10 or 25 to start with and only have the Europe option on (in green and deselect the others to grey) I realised I am not very good at all at European countries so I used the 'skip' option a lot to begin with. You might need a google maps tab open too to help you with some of the really tricky ones. (I did!!) Remember in class we have located: Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Ireland and United Kingdom these would be great to refresh and also to be ready for Y5 to locate the Scandinavian countries.
