Good morning Toucans.
We hope you are all well and looking forward to the break soon. We have had such a busy term and you all have worked ever so hard and deserve some down time next week. I know it’s hard with lockdown but try and think of something nice that you can do with your family to make it a special break.
Maths
Nets – You will be examining different nets and identifying which 3D shapes they make.
Have a go at making some 3D shapes using the Nets that are attached to today’s blog.
Explore Nets of a Cube with this activity

Please watch this video if you can’t access the audio on the PowerPoint. Remember to just pause it when needed and you can play back too if required.
Times Tables
There is also a Colour by Multiplication activity for you to do attached to our blog
Recap all your times tables using TTRockstars https://ttrockstars.com/ Where can you get to on the leader board today? We have been so impressed with your daily scores.
Writing
To make an informative poster which explains the problems faced by black rhinos.
See the Power point attached. Like the Maths, Mrs Downing has recorded the instructions so just click on the audio button to hear what to do.
Please watch this video if you can’t access the audio on the PowerPoint. Remember to just pause it when needed and you can play back too if required.
Reading
Fans of Harry Potter? Here is a quiz to try.
CWAC Libraries are running a ‘Harry Potter quiz’ which begins today until the end of half term. There’s a £10 book token as a prize.
Questions, how to enter and terms and conditions are at https://yourwestcheshire.co.uk/pages/4547/1/The_Harry_Potter_Half_Term_Quiz.html
Toucans, we would love you to read a little each day of the school book you have or a book you have been reading at home.
If you continue to record your reading in your diary and get an adult to sign your diary each time you read, you will still be able to collect your raffle tickets when we are back in school.
Spellings
This week we will be looking at the spellings – Plural Nouns
We will focus on our last word today - opportunities
Can you write a Silly Spelling Story using this word at least 5 times?
E.g. The poor country mouse came to the city to find new opportunities. He hoped the opportunities would be found on every corner. He searched high and low for opportunities to feed him, opportunities of places to stay and opportunities of employment. He finally decided that the city had no opportunities and he would return to the countryside to his old opportunities.
Spelling words: bonuses, addresses, boxes, wishes, matches, peaches, dictionaries, identities, coaches, opportunities,
