Good morning Toucans.
Thank you for sharing your fantastic work on our Discussion yesterday and for uploading onto the Homework page. Mrs Downing and myself are very impressed with the standard of work. We are so proud of your commitment to ensuring you are completing your tasks to the best of your ability.
Maths
MULTPLICATION – Multiplying 2-digit numbers - Today we will look at our multiplication methods, focusing in particular on how to use the grid method to multiply 2 digit numbers. We will then move on to column multiplication.
I have also attached some problem solving tasks on a Word document for you to try. The questions are on the first page and the answers are on the second page, so don’t scroll down to page 2 until you have had a go at solving the problems first by yourself.
Please watch this video if you can’t access the audio on the PowerPoint. Remember to just pause it when needed and you can play back too if required.
Have a go at this game to revise your Times Tables – choose a level to challenge yourself.

This is also another good game to revise times tables

Times Tables
Recap all your times tables using TTRockstars https://ttrockstars.com/ Where can you get to on the leader board today? We have been so impressed with your daily scores.
Writing – Diary
See the Power point attached. Like the Maths, Mrs Downing has recorded the instructions so just click on the audio button to hear what to do.
Please watch this video if you can’t access the audio on the PowerPoint. Remember to just pause it when needed and you can play back too if required.
Reading
Toucans, we would love you to read a little each day of the school book you have or a book you have been reading at home.
Today I will attach a new copy of First News for you to read.
If you continue to record your reading in your diary and get an adult to sign your diary each time you read, you will still be able to collect your raffle tickets when we are back in school.
Spellings
Silent Letters.
We will focus on our last silent letter word for this week - doubted
Write down the root word.
Explain the meaning of this word and then put it in a sentence to show your understanding.
Can you draw an image around the word to help you remember it?
Take a look at this web link to the BBC to find out more about Silent Letters. Watch the video clips and have a go at the activities.
