Maths
FRACTIONS – Adding Fractions - Please follow the attached PowerPoint and listen to Mrs Whittingham’s audio recordings to explain each slide.
Please watch this video if you can’t access the audio on the PowerPoint. Remember to just pause it when needed and you can play back too if required.
Well done to everyone who had a go at the Pyramid Challenge yesterday. We have got some super keen mathematicians in Toucans. I have added another challenge today on adding Fractions. Again answer the questions on the first page of the Word document and then the answers are on the second page. Remember this is an optional extra but we expect everyone to complete the work on the PowerPoint lesson.
Remember to take a look at some of these Maths games to revise key facts on fractions.

Reading
Toucans, we would love you to read a little each day of the school book you have or a book you have been reading at home or an edition of First News.
Don’t forget our new copy of First News. I’ll attach it for you today to read.
If you continue to record your reading in your diary and get an adult to sign your diary each time you read, you will still be able to collect your raffle tickets when we are back in school.
Spellings
As its Friday today and we would usually have a test so I would like you give yourself one using these words today. Look at each word, say it to yourself and then write it down.
Think about the ei and ie.
Remember the rule ‘i’ before ‘e’ except after ‘c’
Spelling words: ceiling, shriek, perceive, relief, receive, piece, protein, achieve, niece, mischief
